Quick answer
ServerLife - Tip Tracker, by MZBApps LLC, is a tip and income tracker that has been on the App Store since 2016 and holds 4.8 from 9,659 US ratings. Its own description spells the name as one word, ServerLife, throughout. It is free to start and its free block is real, but separate cash and credit tips, tip out and tip in, hourly wages and multiple jobs are all Premium, and the free app carries ads.
Server44 logs cash and card tips separately, handles tip-outs, hours and hourly wage per shift, then shows estimated net income with federal and state tax calculations. It is free to download, and the listing puts unlimited jobs, 90-day and 365-day insight windows and an ad-free experience under Server44 PRO.
If you want covers, service charges, expenses and mileage on the same shift entry, or cloud backup that carries your history to a new phone, pick ServerLife - Tip Tracker. If you want a tax estimate, PDF and CSV export, and tip data that stays on the device with no account, pick Server44.

Where ServerLife - Tip Tracker wins
It captures the rest of the shift, not just the tips. The Premium list adds covers and sales per cover, service charges, expenses, mileage and delivery fees, a work schedule, and shift, job and role comparisons with advanced filtering. Server44’s listing states none of those. If you work a section where covers and service charges are the numbers you argue about, this is the more detailed entry screen.
Forecasting is in the free block. The description says the Forecasting tab uses your last 90 days of shifts to predict what you are likely to earn for the rest of the month, and it lists income forecasting as a free feature. It shipped in version 2.1.45 in March 2026, so most of the review history predates it. Premium extends it with a forecast range, what-if scenarios and a goal check that tells you how many shifts you would need to hit a monthly target. Server44 shows insight windows over 7, 30, 90 and 365 days, but the listing states no forecast.
Your history is backed up to the cloud, and it follows you to a new phone. The description says data is backed up automatically and that switching phones loses nothing. Server44’s listing does not state any backup, sync or restore, so a new phone is an open question there. The honest caveat is that this is also the app’s loudest complaint. Of the 400 reviews sampled, 63 mention losing data, being logged out, or both, and reviewers say history has disappeared after an unexpected logout. Several of those stories end with support restoring it.
Support answers, and people name the developer. Fifty-one of the 400 sampled reviews praise fast, personal help, often naming the developer, Jason. Ten complain about support. Reviewers say the app is easy to use and that the per-day and per-month hourly rate is the reason they keep it. A listing dating to 2016 and 9,659 US ratings back that up in a way 23 ratings cannot.
Where Server44 wins
It tells you what you keep, not just what you made. The listing states estimated net income with federal and state tax calculations, and a March 2026 update added a US and non-US tax rules toggle detected from your region. ServerLife - Tip Tracker states no tax feature anywhere in its description, release notes or version history. One of its reviewers asks for a tax calculator to be added.
You can get your numbers back out. Server44 lists PDF documents for records, CSV spreadsheets, full text summaries with notes, and a quick share for texting a summary, and an August 2026 update added sales to exports. ServerLife - Tip Tracker names no export format on its store page. One reviewer describes a yearly CSV file, which is worth knowing but is not something the listing promises.
The basics are not gated the same way. Server44’s listing puts only unlimited jobs, 90-day and 365-day insight windows and an ad-free experience under Pro. On ServerLife - Tip Tracker, separate cash and credit tips, tip out and tip in, hourly wage entry and multiple jobs are all in the Premium block, and free-tier hourly averages are not the same thing as entering your wage. Nineteen sampled reviews rated three stars or lower are about core features sitting behind Premium.
No account, and the data sits on your phone. Server44 states no account required and offline use, and keeps your tip data on the device. ServerLife - Tip Tracker requires a sign-in, and its privacy label declares Identifiers (Device ID) used to track you across other companies’ apps. Server44’s label has no Data Used to Track You section at all. Server44 also lists 39 languages against one for ServerLife - Tip Tracker.

Which one should you pick?
Pick ServerLife - Tip Tracker if you track covers, service charges, expenses or mileage alongside tips, you want a month-end forecast built from your own shift history, you want cloud backup so a new phone keeps your records, and you would rather have a track record going back to 2016 and responsive support than the newer app.
Pick Server44 if you want an estimate of what you actually take home after federal and state tax, you need PDF or CSV export for your own records, you would rather not create an account or hand your shift history to a server, or you need the app in a language other than English.
Either way, the math is worth checking yourself before you commit. Our free tip-out calculator and tip tax withholding calculator run in the browser with no download and no account.
